A world of adventure awaits you at the Los Angeles Zoo! Experience biomes from around the globe from New World tropics to African grasslands to the Australian outback.

The multilevel exhibit features lush greenery and cascading waterfalls and provides a stimulating environment for its resident gorillas.

This expansive habitat aims to inspire awe and appreciation for the natural behavior of these endangered primates.

The largest habitat in the history of the L.A. Zoo, Elephants of Asia occupies “center stage” on our campus, at the very heart of the Zoo. The sprawling exhibit boasts a waterfall, deep bathing pools, a high-tech barn, and plenty of room to roam.

Rainforest of the Americas exhibit at the L.A. Zoo

Rainforest of the Americas brings the wonder and beauty of the Amazon to Los Angeles. Monkeys howl, jaguars prowl, and giant otters swim and slide in this immersive 2.2-acre habitat.

Elevated platforms, fire-hose hammocks, bridges, vines, and other structures offer ample opportunities for the orangutans to climb.

If it hisses, rattles, or croaks, there’s a good chance you’ll find it in the LAIR. More than 60 amphibian, invertebrate, and reptile species are represented in this assortment of living jewels.
