A huge thank you to each of our members and your families and guests who attended this year’s L.A. Zoo Lights: Animals Aglow. Your generous support helped to make this the most successful Zoo Lights season ever! A total of 34,161 member tickets were purchased, helping GLAZA generate revenue to support the Zoo. Here are some fun stats from this year’s event: hungry Zoo Lights guests purchased more than 90,000 churros, 50,000 cups of hot chocolate, and 14,000 s’mores kits! We look forward to welcoming you again to a bigger and brighter Zoo Lights next winter.

As spring arrives and the days get longer and warmer, your L.A. Zoo is an exciting place to visit. The winter rains have brought new plant life, and this is also the prime season to view animal babies. To celebrate springtime, communities, wildlife, and our planet, we have planned several Wild Weekends for you to enjoy at the Zoo. The last weekend in March will feature Spring Fling. Fun activities throughout the weekend will include animal enrichment viewings, a Big Bunny photo-op, an EGGS-tra-ordinary scavenger hunt, and more. In celebration of Earth Day, we will present Wild for the Planet on April 20 and 21, with an emphasis on native plants. The weekend will include planting activities, special talks, storytelling, a Conservation Expo, and performances in Treetops. Finally, on May 4 and 5 we will host Day of the Child/Día de los Niños in partnership with the Zoo’s Learning & Engagement department. This celebration of children will feature storytelling, cultural performances, and education stations which will incorporate bilingual programming (English/Spanish). Be sure to visit the L.A. Zoo website for further information and details about Wild Weekends.

We’re excited to offer a brand-new event this year: Sip & Stroll at the L.A. Zoo, a 21+ evening event on April 13 from 6:30 to 10 P.M. Sip & Stroll will include a parade of specialty cocktails, craft brews, and mocktails paired with live beats, pop-up animal keeper talks, and food trucks. VIP tickets will allow early entry to the event at 6:00 p.m., access to an exclusive lounge with tasty treats by Taste of the Wild, and special VIP animal keeper talks. Purchase your discounted member tickets today.

Whether you choose to attend one or several of our spring events, or you simply decide to visit the Zoo to enjoy the weather, animals, and botanicals, all of us at GLAZA look forward to welcoming you to your L.A. Zoo this spring. We hope your visits are inspiring, relaxing, and renewing as you appreciate this special place.
