First-Ever In-Person Fundraising Walk at the Los Angeles Zoo to Support Wildlife & Wild Places
The nonprofit Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association (GLAZA) is launching its first-ever in-person fundraising walk—Walk for the Wild Presented by Skechers—on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023 to support the Los Angeles Zoo and GLAZA’s shared mission. The adventure begins the moment one registers as a Walker, wherein they will learn about the L.A. Zoo’s conservation work and its efforts to save threatened species around the globe. They will also receive helpful information on how to reach fundraising goals and tips on team recruitment. On the morning of Feb. 25, Walk for the Wild will begin with an opening ceremony as the walkers gather for a trek around the Zoo grounds prior to its opening, with views of elephants, giraffes, chimpanzees, and more. At the completion of the walk, participants will gather at the Walk for the Wild Village to relax and recharge from the morning’s event.
The proceeds raised from this event benefit the Los Angeles Zoo and its nonprofit partner the Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association (GLAZA). In partnership, the L.A. Zoo and GLAZA are committed to preserving and protecting wild species and their habitat for future generations, and creating a space for meaningful, direct connections to nature through exploration, discovery, and education.
Registration begins Nov. 1, 2022 and is $55 per person for standard registration or $75 per person for upgraded registration including a commemorative T-shirt. Walk for the Wild is open to the public, and participants of all ages and abilities are encouraged to participate.
