Member Tour: COME HOOF THE ZOO WITH US!
Saturday, December 14 (10:30 am - 11:30 am)
Come stride through the Zoo with our Hoofstock & Elephant Touring Docents on a fabulous, four-legged walking safari. Which antelope doesn't begin to pant until the temperature exceeds 112 degrees?
What hoofed animal can run 60 mph, for over an hour, because it evolved to outrun North American cheetahs? What's the difference between horns and antlers? What physical movement is impossible for elephants, but fairly easy for many humans? Why do some animals chew their cud? What hoofstock has a prehensile upper lip, and why? Come find out on Saturday, December 14th, and enjoy a morning with the Zoo's hoofstock and elephants.
