Welcome to Wild Weekends at the L.A. Zoo—themed weekends offering guests special entertainment, activities, and educational opportunities in celebration of communities, wildlife, and the planet we share. All programming is free with paid daytime admission and for Zoo members.

Lunar New Year

February 1–2, 2025 (Saturday–Sunday)

Upper-Level Member Preview on Saturday, February 1 (8–10 a.m.)

Join us in ringing in the Year of the Snake! This special weekend features spectacular performances and demonstrations, story readings, a “red envelope” craft, spotlights on animals of the Chinese zodiac, and the chance to add your hopes for a prosperous and healthy New Year to the Wall of Well Wishes.

Spring Fling

March 22–23, 2025 (Saturday–Sunday)

Upper-Level Member Preview on Saturday, March 22 (8–10 a.m.)

Spring into fun with this jubilant celebration of nature’s renewal. Enjoy fascinating education stations, pollinator spotlights, live and special animal enrichment viewings. You’ll learn about the important role that pollinators such as birds, bees, and butterflies play in the environment, as well as your important role helping the planet thrive through more sustainable living.

Wild for the Planet ft Big Bunny

April 18–20, 2025 (Saturday–Sunday)

Upper-Level Member Preview on Saturday, April 19 (8–10 a.m.)

It’s a celebration of our one precious planet and its rich biodiversity, featuring fun and inspiring activities, entertainment, and presentations. Learn about the Zoo’s conservation and sustainability efforts and what you can do to help. Enjoy a “Planting for Pollinators” station, an Earth Expo featuring favorite community and eco partners, live performances and story readings, and animal enrichment, plus photos with cuddly long-eared friend Big Bunny (for an additional fee).
