Reservations
Are reservations required for admission?
- Advance purchase of date-specific general admission tickets is strongly encouraged. Purchase Tickets
- Guests with general admission tickets will need their ticket confirmation printed or barcodes displayed on a mobile device to enter the Zoo.
Is there a limit to the number of tickets I can reserve?
General admission tickets are available up to 14 tickets per order. If you are interested in 15 or more, at a discounted rate, you may purchase them on-site at the Zoo's box office.
Do my young children need tickets?
Children under the age of 2 receive free admission but will still need tickets. Select "Infant (0-23 months)" when making your ticket purchase.
Do I need to print my tickets or can they be scanned from my phone?
We can scan tickets either from your phone, another mobile device, or a printed ticket. A printed ticket is not necessary for admittance. If you have access to the confirmation email with attached tickets on your phone, or if you have your ticket barcodes saved in a mobile wallet such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Samsung Pay, we can scan your tickets directly from your phone.
I never received my ticket order confirmation email. What should I do?
If you’ve purchased tickets online and can’t find your confirmation email with your tickets, you have a few options. First, please search your spam or promotions folder for “lazoo”. If you locate the email in spam please mark the email as “Not Spam” so that you will receive all future email communications. If you don’t find the email in your spam folder, simply email lazoo.tickets@lacity.org and provide your order number (shown on the web page after completing your purchase) or if you don’t have the order number, you may also provide your name and photo ID upon arrival at the Zoo.
What if I have a valid general admission ticket that is not for a specific date?
If you have a valid general admission ticket, you may exchange it for a date-specific ticket by emailing lazoo.tickets@lacity.org. Please allow three days to exchange your ticket.
What if I make a reservation and discover I'm unable to attend at the date I selected?
We are sorry, but we cannot accommodate refunds. Your ticket is good for one full year from the date of purchase.
Can I make a reservation for my group, troop, etc.?
General admission tickets are available online up to 14 tickets per order. If you are interested in purchasing 15 or more tickets at a discounted rate, you may do so on-site at the Zoo's box office. For more information, you may contact Guest Relations at lazoo.tickets@lacity.org (please allow 24 hours for a response). Group rates are $16 for children (age 2-12) and $19 for adults (age 13 and older) for groups of 15 or more. Purchase is not available online or via phone.
What are Los Angeles Zoo hours?
Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. The last entry at is 3:45 p.m.
Please be aware that the animals start to go in for the night at 4 p.m.
Can we leave the Zoo and re-enter during our visit?
Re-entry is permitted during the day, with a valid hand stamp. There is no re-entry for nighttime events.
Membership
Do I need a reservation to visit the Zoo, even if I’m a member?
No, member reservations are not required at this time. We continue to monitor and adhere to the guidance of public health officials, which may require us to reinstate reservations in the future.
What do members need to bring to gain admittance to the Zoo?
Members will need to bring their current membership card/temporary card and photo ID for entry.
Are members able to use guests passes?
Yes, member guest passes are accepted at this time.
Discounts
Do you have discounts for active duty military or veterans?
We offer a military discount for active and retired service members with valid military ID. The discount applies for up to 6 people per party (including the service member). Tickets must be purchased at the Zoo. This discount is not available online.
I have a membership to another zoo or aquarium. Will that still work for free or reduced rate admission?
Check our reciprocal list to see if you qualify for a reciprocal discount. Photo ID and valid membership card from reciprocal institution required. Reciprocal discounts are only available at the Zoo’s box office.
Do you offer EBT discounts?
No, at this time, the Los Angeles Zoo is not offering discounts for EBT cardholders.

Safety Measures
I have a reservation today but I'm not feeling well, what should I do?
If you or a member of your party are experiencing symptoms or have tested positive for COVID-19, please do not come to the Zoo. Your ticket is good for one full year from the date of purchase
Guest Experience & Services
Are you offering preferred parking?
All parking is free until further notice.
Will I be able to rent a wheelchair, stroller, or scooter?
All rentals (stroller, wheelchair, scooter) are available, on a first come, first served basis. Purchases must be made with a credit card. Strollers, wheelchairs, and scooters will be sanitized before and after each use.

Is food available for purchase?
Food and beverages are available for purchase in locations throughout the Zoo. Credit card sales are preferred.
Are water fountains and vending machines available?
Water fountains and vending machines are available.
Can I bring food and beverages with me?
You are welcome to bring your own food items if you like. Please refrain from bringing any glass, disposable straws, or alcoholic beverages.
Do you have a gift shop?
The International Marketplace, open during regular Zoo hours* and during select nighttime events, features a range of international favorites and traditional must-haves. Browse our large collection of gift items, apparel, hats, books, music, plush animals, and much more.
*Gift shop hours are subject to change with business and weather conditions.
Is the carousel open?
The Carousel is open daily (weather permitting) from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. There is a nominal fee to ride the carousel. Children under 42 inches in height must be accompanied by one adult (at no additional charge).
Are all of the animal habitats open? Are there any opportunities to feed animals?
The Los Angeles Zoo is closely monitoring the development of zoonotic diseases in the United States. For the health and welfare of the animals in our care, some habitats and experiences will remain closed or have restricted access to ensure physical distancing. The majority of animal exhibits will be accessible to guests. There are currently no animal feeding experiences available to guests.

For the health and welfare of the animals in our care, some habitats and experiences will remain closed or have restricted access to ensure physical distancing. The majority of animal exhibits will be accessible to guests.

Is there anything I can do to help the Zoo?
The Zoo and Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association depend on ticket sales, membership sales, zoo visits, food and retail purchases during your zoo visit, and donations.
