L.A.’s Wildest Holiday Tradition Returns!
Guests immerse themselves in a dazzling world of lantern sculptures and lights, with exciting new elements that will delight and entertain the entire family.

With the addition of a new gorilla infant – a sibling for Angela – five great apes have made their public debut at the LA Zoo! One gorilla, one orangutan, and THREE chimpanzees!

Zoo staff, volunteers, and guests are beaming with joy over the birth of a new baby boy Bornean orangutan, which can be seen now at the Red Ape Rain Forest.

The Los Angeles Zoo is buzzing with excitement as now THREE chimpanzees were born in the past few months, two female and one male. These are the first chimpanzees born at the L.A. Zoo in 11 years.

Female California condor #939 was hatched at the Los Angeles Zoo in 2018 at the California Condor Recovery Facility and was successfully released to the wild. Years later she returned to the Zoo in desperate need of treatment for a severe case of lead poisoning from ingesting lead ammunition.
