Los Angeles Zoo Parking Lot Construction
The Los Angeles Zoo parking lot is currently under construction as part of Proposition O Clean Water Bond. The changes to the L.A. Zoo’s parking lot will reduce urban runoff, remove bacteria and other pollutants from the runoff, and keep them from draining into the Los Angeles River. This project will install stormwater Best Management Practices (BMPs) such as porous pavement and bioswales, as well as increase green space and improve the aesthetic appeal of the L.A. Zoo parking lot with trees native to California, an improved promenade and educational signage. In addition, the renovated parking lot will have efficient lighting fixtures, recycling receptacles and an improved layout.
The Los Angeles Zoo Parking Lot project, along with other approved Proposition O projects, will assist in making our waterways safer and healthier while meeting Environmental Protection Agency and federal Clean Water Act requirements.

Protect and Respect
