OPENING WEEKEND Activities

Friday, March 27 through Sunday, March 29

The fun kicks off on March 27 – 29 with a weekend full of special programming, including live performances, crafts, animal enrichment, photos with Big Bunny, and more.

Cactus Patio

Big Bunny Photo Opportunity Photo packages available for an additional fee. 10:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m.

Rose Garden Picnic Area

Live Performances by 3rd Rock Hip Hop at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m
Bewilder Craft Station and Scavenger Hunt
Honey Tasting in partnership with Los Angeles County Beekeepers Association (10:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.)

Treetops Terrace

Screen Printing Demonstrations with Natural Pigments by Self-Help Graphics and Art
- Bring in a t-shirt or canvas tote bag to have screen printed with the custom event design or purchase one in the gift shop.
Seed Bomb Activity
- Create a seed bomb to take home and create a new green pollinator space with seeds of native flowers.
Conservation Expo featuring Community Conservation Organizations (See Participant Schedule Below)

Los Angeles Zoo members at the Family Deluxe level and above have the opportunity to experience L.A. Zoo Bloom before the Zoo opens to the public, with special animal experiences, free carousel rides, and more. No RSVP required. To upgrade your support in order to attend, email membership@zoo.lacity.org.

The L.A. Zoo will be buzzing with activity all spring! L.A. Zoo Bloom is a season-long event featuring colorful photo ops, strolling characters, and the new conservation themed Mission Safari maze! Beyond the opening weekend, ongoing activities include:
