L.A. Zoo Quest: Amazing Apes

An adventure for all ages

From the creators of the nation-wide hit Locked Zoo, the L.A. Zoo is proud to present Zoo Quest: Amazing Apes! Zoo Quest is and an after-hours, zoo-wide series of puzzle solving games in which participants work in teams to solve an elaborate series of puzzle clues across the zoo grounds, racing the clock in a one-of-a-kind adventure.

Throughout the Zoo Quest adventure, enjoy delicious bites from food trucks and live DJ sets to keep the energy high.

This edition’s challenge — Amazing Apes — takes teams through three puzzle chapters:

  • Ape Enrichments
  • Gibbons
  • Ape Habitats

As teams progress through each chapter, they’ll uncover fascinating facts about these intelligent animals and the conservation efforts protecting them in the wild. After the puzzle, guests are invited to stay for keeper talks, visit the apes and primates on exhibit, food trucks, bars, DJs, and more.

It’s a wild night out for the whole family.

zoo quest GAME NOTES – be prepared

  • A cell phone is required. Each team will need at least one phone, fully charged, and with a data package. Gameplay tasks are to be completed throug the phone. Charging stations and WiFi are not available.
  • Teams of 2 to 6 people are recommended, but solo players are welcome. Larger groups are also welcome and can share or receive an extra game sheet.

EVENT DETAILS

  • Box Office opens at 5:45 p.m. and closes at 7:45 p.m. 
  • Gates open at 6 pm and close at 7:45 p.m.
  • This is a non-smoking event 
  • Some areas will close at 8 p.m. 
  • Food stands and bars will take last orders at 8:30 p.m.
  • Food trucks will take last orders at 8:15 p.m. 
  • Animal keeper talks and feedings are subject to change without notice
  • During evening events, animals are given access to their night quarters for their comfort. Therefore, most animals will not be visible after 8 p.m.
