(LOS ANGELES, CA) Jan. 23, 2020 – The Los Angeles Zoo is kicking off its Australian bushfire awareness and fundraising campaign with special Australia-focused programming and donation opportunities on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2020. For every guest that passes through the L.A. Zoo’s gates that day, the Zoo will make a $1 donation toward Australian wildlife rescue and recovery efforts, made possible by Adam Stern and Erika Aronson. Additionally, guests will have the opportunity to learn about Australian wildlife and wild habitats through talks and tours in the Zoo’s Australia section – with special highlights on koalas and Tasmanian devils.
Guests who wish to contribute directly to Australian wildlife can donate at all L.A. Zoo retail shops starting on Jan. 26 and continuing throughout the month of February. Donations will be directed to the Zoo and Aquarium Association Australasia (ZAA) Australia Wildlife Conservation Fund and Zoos Victoria Bushfire Emergency Wildlife Fund.
