The Commemorative Bench Program
When you participate in the Los Angeles Zoo Association’s Commemorative Bench Program, your investment provides invaluable unrestricted support for the Zoo’s education and outreach efforts. This includes our nationally acclaimed docent program, our behavioral enrichment programs, and the Zoo’s participation in conservation and Species Survival Plan programs.
Participants receive a lasting and meaningful commemoration for important events and personal milestones, or pay homage to a loved one.
The completion of the new front entry introduced a new style of benches to the Zoo. They are made of a special hardwood known as ipe (e-pay), which is commonly used for fine outdoor furniture and decking. Each six-foot bench will feature an attractive, personalized stone plaque. There are a limited number of front entrance commemorative benches available.
Concrete benches include a handsome, engraved plaque with your message or honoree's name, and may be placed in select locations throughout the Zoo.
The Commemorative Bench Program is a fitting way to honor an important occasion or family name. And don’t forget to ask your employer about matching gifts — you could reduce your cost for a bench!
Commemorative benches are $10,000 each.
