Student Volunteers
Similar to the Docent program, our Student Volunteer program is open to high school students currently in if the 9th, 10th, or 11th grade. Students participate in a 13 week class, meetings on Sundays to learn about conservation, ecology, biomes, and abbreviated taxonomy of the plants and animals at the Zoo.
Upon completion of the class, students are eligible to participate in and assist with educational opportunities including our Zoo World Patch Program, Animals & You, World of Birds Show, Muriel’s Ranch, California Condor Rescue Zone, lead mini tours, as well as much more!
The Fall program starts in September and runs through December, and the Spring program runs from February through May.
