Predicted Sales Reach Seven Year High

The Los Angeles Zoo and Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association are excited to announce that new Zoo membership sales have exceeded on-site revenue goals for the last six months; March through August 2009!  Final percentages are as follows; March, 131 percent; April, 140 percent; May 157 percent; June, 150 percent; July, 176 percent and August, 203 percent. 

With total sales for August 2009 reaching just over 2,000 memberships, August sales were 203 percent above the expected goal.  The last time sales broke 200 percent was in May 2002.  Sales for August 2009 have now made this the largest August the L.A. Zoo has ever had. 

Total L.A. Zoo memberships fluctuate monthly according to the seasons and the activities taking place at the Zoo.  So far this year, the highest number of memberships was reached in May and totaled about 66,500.  The L.A. Zoo has one of the highest membership bases in the City of Los Angeles. 

The Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens is a great value to families 364 days out of the year; closed Christmas.  With over 1,100 animals and great educational programs, the Zoo offers families, friends and individuals a fun and engaging way to spend their day.  As the economy struggles, Zoo admission prices and membership costs have stayed low.  Despite low cost to visitors, the L.A.
